Working at ESP Is a Little Different

Most electrical contractors followed a familiar path; learned the trade, logged their hours, passed their exam, and started the business. Zach did all of that too, but somewhere along the way he also earned a college degree, founded the Excellence in Economics Award at the local Catawba Valley Community College, built multiple businesses in computer and IT services and audio/video installation for local governments, and spent seven years as a piano bar entertainer aboard Carnival Cruise Lines, one of the largest corporations in the world.

That last one surprises people. But those seven years weren't just about music entertainment. Carnival runs some of the most rigorous management, safety, and large-scale operations programs in any industry. Zach came back from that career with a rare combination: deep trade knowledge and the operational mindset of someone who has worked inside a Fortune 500 machine. When COVID ended that chapter, he came home, picked up his tools, and started Electric Service Pros, bringing every bit of that experience with him.

One thing you should know about Zach: he doesn't like the word boss. Bosses push people to get the job done. Leaders pull them to the finish line. Zach leads the way a wolf pack moves, from the back, making sure no one gets left behind, especially the least experienced person on the crew.
